MILLIKEN'S 2025 HONOREES

    GRAND MARSHALL

Steven and Kelly Strain

I, Judy Davenport, nominate Steven and Kelly Strain for the 2025 Grand Marshall at Milliken's Beef 'n Bean Day.

Steven and Kelly Strain are truly remarkable neighbors who go above and beyond for everyone around them! They always make it their mission to lend a helping hand whenever it's needed. Whether it's stopping what they're doing to assist someone in need or simply being there for a friendly chat, their kindness shines through!

As parents, my husband Robert Davenport and I are incredibly grateful for Steven and Kelly's watchful eyes, always keeping an eye out for all the kids in the neighborhood. It gives us such peace of mind knowing they are looking out for our children every single day!

Not only that, but Steven also made a fantastic contribution to Roosevelt High School by picking up a donated vehicle and delivering it to the shop class for students to work on! And let's not forget about
Kelly: she's an outstanding physical therapist known for her exceptional skills and dedication. We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our community!

HONORED CITIZENS

Bruni and Guz Guzman

I, Elizabeth Austin, proudly nominate Bruni and O.J. "Guz" Guzman as Honored Citizens for the 2025 Beef 'n Bean Day.

For over six years, Bruni and Guz have been vital members of the Milliken Events Committee, selflessly dedicating countless hours to planning and

executing community events like Beef 'n Bean Day, Monster Mash, and the Festival of Lights. Their unwavering commitment to our community is evident in their roles as election judges, where they meticulously verify signatures and ballots to uphold the integrity of our election process. Moreover, they
consistently provide meals and vital support to community members facing challenging times.

In addition to their event planning, Bruni and Guz volunteer weekly at a thrift store that benefits the Mountain States Children's Home, directly supporting children in need. They diligently restore, sort, price, and display donated items, ensuring that everything is organized and accessible. This year, they went above and beyond by transforming the employees lunchroom into a welcoming space for meals and breaks, demonstrating their dedication to
fostering a positive work environment. Bruni and Guz's extraordinary contributions truly embody the spirit of service, making them deserving candidates for this recognition.

HONORED ORGANIZATION

Milliken Elementary PTO

I, Adrianne Smith, would like to nominate the
Milliken Elementary PTO as Honored Organization.

Over the last few years, the MES PTO has held fundraisers to support construction efforts and improvements, student opportunities, supporting
educators, and community events.

Additionally, the PTO has supported the community with free events for families that include donated items as raffle prizes - like the always beloved Turkey Bingo - a long held MES tradition that includes a food drive benefiting the Milliken Presbyterian Church.

The Milliken Elementary PTO is a wonderful organization thatsupports our teachers, students, and community.

HONORED BUSINESS

TBK Bank

I, Jimmy Baugh, would like to nominate TBK Bank as the Honored Business of the year for the 2025 Beef 'n Bean Day. TBK Bank is committed to our communities, funding events in both Milliken and Johnstown, where they have branches.

The bank consistently demonstrates its generosity by supporting the community both financially and through the involvement of staff members who regularly attend events. Over the past three years,
their personnel have volunteered more than 23,500 hours to help the communities they serve.  This recognition would be a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge TBK Bank's contributions to our towns  and show our citizens  that essential financial services but also cares for its community.  A small-town bank like TBK Bank is truly a valuable asset to our area.
